I hope we all have much to be thankful for this year, even though the history/story of Thanksgiving we've been told, is a lie and the world has gone mad!
Thanksgiving is my favorite not commercial holiday for sharing time with family and friends, sharing good food and conversation.
So why are there so many football games being aired on Thanksgiving?
Funny story: My two youngest daughters were born in November, the youngest a few days before Thanksgiving. A few years ago I was having Thanksgiving at my place and one of the November birthday daughters baked a carrot cake for dessert to celebrate them both. When it came time for dessert, I joyfully went to take the cake out of the refrigerator and put candles on it so we could sing to the girls. They had decorated the cake with the words "Colonialists Are Murderers!"
This Thanksgiving I am catering most of the food versus cooking multiple dishes myself, and we are celebrating Thanksgiving at my former husband's (father to my 4 daughters) home. I told my youngest I wanted to decolonialize Thanksgiving this year.
My former mother-in-law proudly told me once that she belonged to Daughters of the Mayflower. This was decades ago and I remember thinking, OK, but I didn't fully understand the implication. Now I do!
All reactions:

At some point we are all Natives, and colonist......Free and slave just depends on the time wave.
Jamestown and the Neighborhood was never the same
Damn Europeans came
If its all the same
Everybody comes from somewhere
Happy Thanksgiving and a solemn sweet celebration in conversations and prayer
