Discernment

The mechanisms for the demise of society have been in place for decades, even before I was born, but I started to bear witness to the moral decline, the rise in misogyny and profanity in the music and entertainment industries in the past twenty years, while raising my 4 young daughters. It was blatant to me, but when I brought it up with my daughters, they said I was being overly sensitive. I told them they had become desensitized. It was apparent to me that Hollywood was programming our youth to accept violence and a lack of values as a norm. This is nothing like the entertainment industry I grew up with in the 60’s and 70’s.

Since the younger generations grew up in an era of social media and a demise in society, it is all many of them have known. One of my daughters responds with, “Mom, times have changed,” when I call something to her attention. What has changed more than anything, are societal values, and not for the better.

The level of disconnect and distraction I witness among family, friends and neighbors is honestly distressing. People will believe whatever the television, newspaper, government or social media tells them, without a critical thought. Those I considered most educated and intelligent in my family, friends and circle of influence, are the ones that never questioned what they were being told to do. This is how “higher education” has captured so many minds, in my experience and observations.

The current indoctrination and programming is only successful because of the large amount of the population that uses mainstream media as an avenue for informing themselves. Social media is the epitome of group think. All by design.

The more difficult the path, the least who will take it. Stay your course regardless. Trust your discernment (an inside job), not those external voices that seek to influence you.
